Konrad Begg

Konrad Begg is a Scottish film and television director known for his visually arresting and emotionally resonant work. Growing up in Scotland, a land of dramatic contrasts, Konrad developed an early passion for escaping the mundane, inspired by Sunday westerns at his grandparents' flat, cult films on BBC Moviedrome, and blockbuster trips to the cinema. His love for filmmaking began with skateboarding, snowboarding, and surfing films, eventually leading him to direct commercials and dramas worldwide.

Konrad’s career spans diverse genres, from action-packed car and bike stunts to sensitive, naturalistic storytelling. His projects have included dropping a VW Beetle from a helicopter, choreographing explosive car crashes in Los Angeles, and capturing breathtaking scenes on South African salt plains or China's 99-turn road. This dynamic approach has earned him recognition from BAFTA, Emmy, and RTS awards, as well as audience accolades like 200 million YouTube views.

An intuitive filmmaker, Konrad values spontaneity and collaboration on set. He thrives on the energy of filmmaking—the thrill of creating something that resonates deeply with audiences. His debut feature film Songs for Amy premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh and won Outstanding Achievement in Filmmaking at the Newport Beach Film Festival. His latest feature The Detour is currently in development.

When not crafting films, Konrad can be found in the sea with his three sons, embodying the adventurous spirit that defines his work.
